4.27

My primary source are two album cover of a Chinese rock band which employ elements of Chinese mythology figure. My secondary source is articles which talks about Chinese rock in general.

I will use it to expand my statement about how and why Chinese elements are integrated in Chinese rock and the background of Chinese rock, and why are Chinese elements important in the development of Chinese rock. Besides, I will use my secondary source to explain why some of Chinese rock bands have a transition to a softer style when they become famous compared to when they were underground.

  1. In your description, you list how you are goig to write about how chinese rock effects several things. I would probably narrow the list of things down and just focus on one or two things so that you can get a very in-depth research paper that clearly states a point you are trying to express.

  2. I definitely think that articles are good secondary sources when it comes to talking about the meanings of symbols. However, there are probably other types of sources you can use effectively as well. Maybe you can find a book with a chapter that more closely examines the meaning of a specific symbol. What would be really cool is if there was something where the band talks about why they chose their cover art. I think that if you could find that, it would really add a lot of meaning to your paper as well as a closer and unique perspective.

  3. That's really interesting, I never knew they changed their style when becoming more popular. I wonder if U.S. music does something like that, becoming more "easy listening" to appeal to the masses maybe.

  4. This sounds like somthing pretty interesting to write about. If you get the chance, you may want to look into finding a secondary source about Chinese mythology to relate it to the music.
